Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Plated Fitness (“Plated”, “we”, “us”) covering your use of the Plated app. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. Who may use Plated

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. You need one account, registered with accurate information, and you are responsible for everything that happens under it. Keep your password to yourself.

2. Plated is not medical advice

Nutrition data drawn from public databases and from other users may be inaccurate or incomplete, and AI-generated estimates in particular can be wrong. Do not rely on Plated where accuracy is critical to your health — for example when managing diabetes or a severe allergy. Always check the product packaging itself.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, videos, posts, comments and other content you put into Plated. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content, solely for the purpose of operating the app — showing your post to the people you shared it with, and nothing beyond that. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are required to keep by law and for content others have already been shown.

You confirm that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

4. Community rules — zero tolerance

You may not post, upload, or send any content that:

• Harasses, bullies, threatens, intimidates, or targets any person.
• Is hateful, or attacks or demeans a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
• Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or sexually suggestive; or sexualises a minor in any way whatsoever.
• Depicts or glorifies graphic violence, self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating.
• Promotes or glamorises eating disorders, extreme restriction, purging, or unsafe rapid weight loss.
• Promotes illegal drugs, unprescribed pharmaceuticals, anabolic steroids, or any other illegal activity.
• Is spam, a scam, or a deceptive commercial solicitation.
• Impersonates another person, or misrepresents your affiliation with anyone.
• Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, or any other right.
• Contains another person’s private information, or an image of them posted without their consent.
• Contains false nutritional information posted deliberately to mislead.

You also may not abuse the service itself: no scraping, no automated access, no reverse engineering, no attempt to bypass rate limits or security controls, no interfering with anyone else’s use of the app, and no reselling or redistributing any part of it.

5. How we moderate

Every post and comment carries a Report action, and every user can be blocked — blocking is enforced in both directions, so a blocked user cannot see or interact with you either.

Reports are triaged automatically within seconds and reviewed by a human. We act on reported content within 24 hours, removing it and, where warranted, ejecting the user who posted it. We may remove content or suspend an account at our discretion where these terms are broken. If you believe we got it wrong, email us and we will look again.

Report anything that breaks these rules to support@plated-fitness.com or through the in-app report action.

6. Plated Pro subscriptions

Plated offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, Plated Pro, which unlocks the additional features described at the point of purchase.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
• Prices are shown in the app in your local currency and may change; we will tell you before a change takes effect.

Refunds for purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple under its own policy, not by us. Purchases made on the web are handled by our payment processor and are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

7. Availability, and changes to the app

We work to keep Plated running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature materially, you may cancel and we will refund the unused portion of your current period where the law requires it.

8. Ending it

You may stop using Plated at any time, and delete your account and its data from inside the app — Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections 2, 3, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Plated is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of this may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither we nor our suppliers are liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of Plated. Our total liability for any claim relating to Plated is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty US dollars. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from content you posted or from your breach of these terms.

12. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Plated or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for Plated. If Plated fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Plated. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Plated, including product liability, regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims, or for investigating or defending any intellectual property infringement claim relating to Plated. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and are not on any US Government prohibited-party list.

13. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in. We may update these terms; if a change is material we will notify you in the app before it takes effect, and continued use after that means you accept the revised terms.
